KDE apps Crash with xgl/compiz

So, I found that my KDE apps always crashed with xgl/compiz and have debugged a little. The bug may lie in SCIM/SKIM. SUSE 10.1 x86_64.

Here's my steps to reproduce crashes:

1.With working xgl/compiz

2.The SCIM/SKIM IM is NOT the default "Keyboard" nor "Eng/Euro". In my case, I
tried some Chinese IMs like pinyin. With keyboard IM on, QT apps do not crash.

3.The second new window made by the parent QT3 app will be followed by a crash.
I know it sounds tricky and strange though, it happens. Taking Kopete for
instance. Open kopete, fine. Turn on Chinese pinyin IM, click a friend in the
list and it would produce the 1st new window with success. No matter you close
this new window or not, clicking another friend. it would pop up the 2nd new
window then the window flashed to disappear. That means the Kopete crashed. In
fact, qt3 apps(Opera/kbabel/Kopete......) would crash if it was called to creat
a 2nd new window with a Chinese IM on.

I restart skim manually in shell, it does say anything wrong no matter there's
a crash or not.

Workaround:

Remeber to turn the IM to the default "Keyboard" when creating new QT windows. Better getting use to do an IM switch just before & after inputing characters that needs the other Input Method.

And if you want XGL/SCIM/QT apps work well together, "vote for the bug" at the bottom of the page:

I miss you so,

I'm tired.
I miss you so.
Done much today but all meaningless.
Just to keep myself occupied.
How I wish if you were here.
We could do some talk.
We don't talk very often.
Far from enough.
I want to tell you I'm working on something faraway but great.
Glorious may be the most appropriate word to describe.
I want to know what you think.
I want to listen.
To you.
Or if  a deep kiss is better?
If the God could stop all the pointless busy, we'd go out for a drink.
Since at least I got a point.
Do you like black coffee or milk?
Or the damn world would cut off our relation?
I don't know why get agraid a couple of times.
Just feeling and understanding.
Never get enough time to do everything but feel, fall and fail.
I'm tired.
I'm missing you.
May the force be with you, dear.
And Good night.

Finally some good news

Finally, some serious events are to be dealing with. I saw a beginning at BBC. And I'll keep it a secret.

Truth hurts, but it will eventually come out.

So just relax and do what we can.

By the way, H3c sux!!!

By the other way, done some design for Opera. Maybe it will rock on a T-shirt? Anyway, a piece of pop art.

Ubuntu Dapper Drake Beta 6.06

It simply ROCKS on my Ferrari 4005. Thus it's the turning point for my view on Ubuntu.
LCD resolution problem solved/ Hot keys on laptop work/ Excellent FAT32/NTFS regconization/ music, movie clips.......
There are some bugs though:
libncurses bug keeps me from network/some translation mistakes
But after all, Ubuntu is becoming a distrobution really Great.

Mac OS XP!!!

Macs have been notorious for its uncompatibility. Now it seems the Apple made some move. Boot Camp public beta is out for a dual sistem Mac (specifically XP+MAC OS X).

So, Macs would be a strange mixture. It will be called Mac OS XP?

I can imagine how miserable those Mac Cults feel. Apple got an other bite by XP/M$, for the purpose declared obviously at the beginning of the download page with keywords "buying Apple".

Ps. Not 24 hours after BOOT CAMP released beta, we got the 1st report of an APPLE Blue Screen.

Quit Ubuntu, Going to Gentoo

A serious bug found in the latest alpha Ubuntu Dapper Drake Flight-5 has an fatal effect on my 802.1x authorization application. It's so annoying
I am really impressed by performance of the distribution, though some issues suck a bit. In all, Ubuntu is not the best choice to AMD64 users.
So, I made a decision of quit, and then set out for Gentoo 2006.0

I would.....

I would take the eternel pride in keeping my hair long, in this information age for hysteria.
Since, I am innocent. I can tell.
